Rise of the Runelords

Trouble at the Glassworks and Below

The next morning Corgan woke up and intended to go find Amiko to see if Zoso had talked to her about the necklace, but she wasn’t in the Inn.

The party was invited by Sheriff Hemlock to meet with Mayor Deverin and Shalelu Andosana, an elven ranger that keeps track of the local goblin tribes.

After the meeting the party returned to the inn and was approached by a maid, that said she hasn’t seen Amiko since last night and found this note in Amiko’s room.

The note was from Amiko’s brother, Tsuto Kaijitsu, asking her to meet him at the Glassworks last night at midnight claiming that their father was involved in Sandpoint’s goblin problems. The party went to the Glassworks to investigate. The door was locked, so we forced ourselves inside. Once inside Glassworks, we heard goblin sounds and found out there was goblins in the Glassworks.

Goblins were fought on the workshop floor and for once Dahk’gim managed to stay conscious and was able to burn some Goblins with his Burning Hands spell.

Once several goblins were killed, the rest fled down below the Glassworks. After the goblin retreat, the party found Lonjiku Kaijitsu dead on the floor from apparent goblin inflicted wounds.

The party proceeded to continue down below the Glassworks, following the path of the fleeing goblins, and ran into Tsuto Kaijitsu who turned out to be the leader of the goblins.

Tsuto and his goblins were fought and killed, but we also found Amiko who was prisoner and badly beaten and unconscious. Corgan healed her and sent her back to The Rusty Dragon, which Amiko said that the party could have a lifetime stay at the Inn as a reward.

Looting Tsuto the party found various items, including gold, a masterwork shortbow, a ring of protection +1, and a notebook.

The notebook had details about the raid and stealing Tobyn’s casket while everyone was distracted, talking about how there will be a “real” raid in the future. The notebook also mentioned multiple forces working together, the goblin Ripnugget, a quasit from below the Glassworks, bugbear Bruthazmus, and “the rest”. Tsuto mentions his girlfriend as the actual leader, saying she is trying to release Malfeshnekor and also remove her “celestial taint”. He mentions that his girlfriend’s burning of her father’s remains at the Thistletop Shrine has started a transformation of her into a hideous demon. She plans to offer the whole of Sandpoint as ritual sacrifice to Lamashtu’s fires.

Party party then proceeds to follow a tunnel underneath the Glassworks that leads to a dungeon below Sandpoint. The dungeon is a shrine dedicated to Lamashtu and is assumed to the the one mentioned in the notebook. The party was attacked by a sinspawn upon entering the dungeon. It was defeated and a marble statue of a women was found that held an ivory ranseur, which was removed by Dahk’gim.

Further rooms were searched and looted, while more sinspawns were encountered. Eventually the group found and were attacked by a mutated goblin. The goblin was defeated and looted, with his +1 longsword being given to Doderak.

A shrine to Lamashtu was then found containing a fountain of evil foul looking, but magical, water. Zoso was interested and with Dahk’gim’s encouragement, drank some water. Zoso immediately suffered the curse of Lamashtu and was dealt dexterity damage and sprouted nubs of horns from her head. Interested, Dahk’gim took a couple vials for later use.

Eventually the party comes into a large chamber that contains the female quasit mentioned in Tsuto’s notebook. She slices her arm and drips blood into a well at the center of the chamber, which causes another sinspawn to be created from it. She seems alarmed that the glow from the well grew very faint after the sinspawn was created.

The battle with the quasit last multiple rounds, with the party realizing that she doesn’t damage easily and appears to be healing, but Dahk’gim suddenly ends the fight with a critical Arcane Strike to get over her damage resistance and kill her.

The quasit is looted and had a +1 cold iron returning dagger, a tiny tiara, and a tiny black silk gown.

Next the party attempted to figure out the purpose of the well in the center of the chamber. Seeing as how it reacted to the quasit’s blood, the quasit’s head was chopped off and her body was tossed in the well, which created another sinspawn that the party defeated. The well’s glow was faint, but still present, so the rest of the quasit’s body was tossed in and another spinspawn was fought. The glow was no longer present, but just to be certain Corgan slices his arm and used his own blood to verify the well’s magic was spent.

The events of the night were then reported to the town Sheriff, Mayor, and Shalelu. Shalelu was surprised at the coordinated efforts of multiple goblin tribes, but agreed with the party that it was time to head to Thistletop and find the leader.

The party was rewarded and our level was increased to 3.

The majority of the loot from the previous adventure was sold and the resulting gold was distributed amongst the party.

Dahk’gim bought some armor, Zoso commissioned the making of two masterwork wakizashis, Corgan purchased a wand of Cure Light Wounds with 50 charges, and Leah bought a composite longbow.
